Congratulations to our Hereford clients Boomer Birch and Graham Brindley of the Sky High herd, who have announced the private sale of their six month old Hereford bull Sky High 1 Korker for a substantial figure to Heather Whittaker and Jeff Price for their Coley herd of Polled Herefords, Halifax.
Sky 1 Korker, a son of Dorepoll 1 93N Nationwide is the first animal to be sold from the Sky High herd that was established in 2011.
A stand out bull from the moment he was born, Korker is out of the Baybridge 1 Atlas daughter Romany 1 Ishbel A84 H34. Ishbel was purchased privately from Robert Wilson after winning the Hereford Calf Show at Agri-Expo 2011, she went on to win Hereford Female of the year 2012 and is one of the herd’s foundation females.
The young bull was much admired at the 2013 National Hereford Calf Show, Shrewsbury, where he was the youngest entry and stood first in his class.
Commenting on the sale Boomer Birch said: “He has always been special from the day he was born. From an early age he displayed exceptional growth with outstanding muscle, exceptional width and strength carried throughout and especially over his loin.
“His strong breed character and class is complemented by correctness and style. Graham and I would like to wish Heather and Jeff all the best with him and we look forward to seeing him at shows this year.”
Adding his thoughts, new owner Jeff Price added: “His tremendous conformation is the result of selective genetic breeding with his dam being a successful show cow and his sire going back to Remitall breeding. He is a wonderful bull with a great temperament and we look forward to showing him locally and nationally and expect great things from his offspring in due course.”
