It’s been more than a pleasure helping prepare the catalogue for this sale and there are some excellent opportunities for existing and new Limousin breeders. All animals entered go back to some amazing lines in the herd, many of which Jonathan and I have had the pleasure of viewing ourselves, so it’s well worth a look. See you all there on the 18th!

This is the first mooandbaa site to include Highland cattle and we have thoroughly enjoyed it. Eckington Pedigrees compliment the cookery school and restaurant. They have enjoyed success in the show ring in recent years and we look forward to reporting on more success in the future.

nov30p 6434Foxhill Livestock will be offering some exciting opportunities to buy in to their leading genetics at the weaned calf sale on Red Ladies Day Friday 13th December at Carlisle.

This will be the first time progeny from some of the best females in the herd will be offered for sale. They have three heifers and three bulls for sale, some of which have been greatly admired at recent calf shows.

With exciting new progeny coming forward from many of the herd’s best female lines and the continued show success of the herd in recent years the new website has been designed to showcase the herd and provide visitors with a strong flavour of the Sterling herd before they arrive at the farm.

Working with designer Zeta Fitzpatrick alongside NEMSA secretary Marion Hope, we followed a brief which consisted of “something new, fresh and eye catching”.

Launched just in the middle of Mule trading season, we’d like to wish NEMSA the very best with forthcoming sales and look forward to working with the Association on future projects.

mooandbaa clients will be in action this month selling stock and up for grabs from the Penparc Texel flock at Lanark, Welshpool, Worcester and Carlisle will be an excellent run of lambs by a number of sires including Gynhos Rambo, Tamnamoney Ned, Connachan Sharky, Knock Powerpacker, Glenside King and Penparc Torpedo.

Also for sale in Carlisle on Saturday 14 September, is a production sale offering from Glenrock Limousins including progeny off the herd’s great breeding cow Glenrock Spangle, dam of this year’s exceptional show heifer Glenrock Fantastic.

Included in the sale will be Glenrock Channel, a Goldies Oswald daughter out of Glenrock Visqueen, a a Romeo daughter from the outstanding  Juniper family. She sells with her Bremore Artist sired bull calf Glenrock Inxs at foot.

Also on offer will be a maternal sister to Glenrock Fantastic, Glenrock Icemaiden. Out of Glenrock Spangle, she is sired by 23,000gns sire Goldies Comet. A number of embryo packages will also be available, including embryos out of Glenrock Spangle sired by either Sympa or Haltcliffe Vermount. Alongside these will be embryos out of Glenrock Saspirilla sired by either Rainbow Simon or Bremore Artist and another offering of Spangle embryos, this time sired by either Goldies Comet or Bremore Artist.

Retro Web ElementsFP1A7317The mooandbaa team would like to say a massive well done to Michael, Melanie and Charlotte Alford on their exceptional efforts at this year’s Great Yorkshire Show with their pedigree Limousin heifer Foxhillfarm Gracie who took the breed, interbreed junior, overall interbreed championship and was part of the champion Continental Blythewood Pairs and Interbreed Group of four champions. They certainly were on an amazing roll from start to finish with her, capped off nicely with the steer championship in the commercials with Harlem Shake and a first prize for their Charolais cross heifer Off the Clock.

Also a big well done to all our other clients at the show including the Horrell family, Ben Marsden, Shadwell Estate, Paul Tippetts and Christine Williams and Dave Thornley.

may16Next month will see one of our most notable Limousin clients, the Ridley family’s Haltcliffe herd, head to Carlisle for their annual heifer sale.

And, once again, the selection of heifers on offer will allow both new and established breeders to buy in to some of the very best families in the herd, including top female lines such as the Perle family which bred 30,000gns heifer Haltcliffe Emerald and Renoncule, dam of 100,000gns bull Haltcliffe Vermount.

Katie is no stranger to the pedigree industry and she joins the team with a very strong pedigree dairy background having worked for leading auctioneers Harrison and Hetherington as their dairy sales specialist and more recently World Wide Sires as a genetic consultant. Due to this background in dairy, Katie will be largely responsible for our new dairy clients (keep an eye for our advertising campaigning in up and coming HUKI Journals) and will be working alongside leading livestock photographer Richard Hodgson on new website builds. She will also be working with various beef and sheep clients on site builds and PR campaigns.

apr19Ending the week on a high, we’ve just put together the finishing touches to a leaflet for the Alford family of Foxhill Livestock to promote their forthcoming sale of commercial show cows and calves, as well as the dispersal of the pedigree Galloway herd. post-date-apr08One of our leading Aberdeen-Angus clients have announced the private sale of Netherton Bellringer L647 to the Kincardine herd of Robert McNeil for an undisclosed price.

Bellringer is by one of America’s top performance sires G13 Steel and is out of Big sky Beauty 009, who has been an influential female at Netherton with her first daughter being sold to Saville and Netherton beauty J533 proving herself as a top donor in the herd.

Sons from Beauty 009 can be found in many herds including Netherton Blitzen G445 in the Isauld herd and Netherton Big Edition H460 who was retained as a stock bull at Netherton before shares were sold to Balmachie and Saville Angus and he can now be found in the Rull herd. Two full brothers to Bellringer include Netherton Bionic J535 who was retained at Netherton and Netherton Beau J536 who was sold to Daylesford Organic Farms.
